Step 1: Wash the seeds. If you purchase a prepackaged bag, it has already been pre-soaked but it is best to complete the step yourself just to be safe. Simple soak one cup in two cups of water for about 10 minutes. Drain the grain and rinse it off.

Step 2:  Pour the quinoa into a pot filled with 1 1/2 cups water. Add 1/2 tsp. Salt. Cover the pot with a lid and boil for 15 minutes.

Step 3: Remove the pot from the stovetop. Let the mixture stand covered for about 5 minutes. Fluff the grain with a fork and serve.

Some people add butter, pepper, or other seasonings before they serve the dish and some people choose to add it to other foods, like milk, honey, dried fruit, or even as a rice substitute with chili or curry.
